New York City-based rap duo Run The Jewels will be appearing at Austin’s South By Southwest Festival (SXSW) in March.
At this time, the location, date, time and other necessary details surrounding the duo’s performance have not been announced, according to Austin 360, a local music blog, and South By Southwest’s own scheduling page.
Within the last six months, Run The Jewels have kept a busy schedule; so, let’s take a look back at some of the important moments. In 2014, they released a new album, hit the target goal for an album remix comprised entirely of cat sounds and met the fan that began the Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, appeared at the Fun Fun Fest, performed with Zach de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine, took part in Red Bull’s 30 Days in LA, and the duo released videos for “Blockbuster Night Pt. 1” and “Oh My Darling”, with the later being not safe for work. Also, Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike spoke out onstage about the unrest playing out in Ferguson, Mo., at a concert in St. Louis, and then Killer Mike and El-P had to cancel their Montréal gig due to a series of mishaps with their tour bus and merchandise trailer.
Lastly, looking ahead in this calendar year, Run The Jewels are slated to play at England’s Reading/Leeds Festival in late August.
