Belle & Sebastian @ Tower Theater 6/9

Scottish pop band, Belle & Sebastian are headed out on tour this spring/summer. They’ve added some shows to their previously announced scheduled, with several new dates surrounding their upcoming performance at Coachella in April. After a slew of UK dates throughout May, the group will head to Philly for their first stop here in the US. You can see them when they play at The Tower on June 9th.

Belle & Sebastian’s upcoming gig at The Tower is the band’s first performance here in Philly in nearly two years. Their last trip here included an appearance at The Mann. But now the band is out supporting their most recent album, Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance. The album, their 9th studio release, will dropped earlier this week via Matador Records. You may have already had a chance to catch some of their new music, as the band is already debuting some of the tunes on late night appearances, like their most recent stop on Conan.

The band has been performing for quite some time, having formed all the way back in 1996. They released their 8th album, Belle and Sebastian Write About Love, in September of 2010. So fans of the band have been waiting for quite some time for new material. Take a listen to the first single from the album, “The Party Line,” and grab your tickets for Belle & Sebastian’s upcoming gig at The Tower!
