Matt & Kim are finally back with new music and they’re taking the new tunes out on the road for a spring tour. The couple will kick things off in Maine in April, and head to Philly a few days later where they’ll play what is sure to be a fantastic show at the Electric Factory. In addition to their tour announcement, Matt & Kim have also announced exciting news about a new album. Their fifth album, New Glow, is slated for release on April 7th, which gives the Philly crowd plenty of time to fall in love with the new tunes before Matt & Kim take over the Electric Factory on the 17th. Matt & Kim have been making music together since 2004. They’ve become best known for their DIY attitude toward music, amassing a huge fanbase largely in part due to their live shows. Their first album, the self-titled, Matt & Kim, was released in 2006. Despite modest sales, the pair grew in popularity their touring and playing at various festivals, including Lollapalooza. They released their second album, Grand, in 2009 and went on to release their third, Sidewalks, in 2010. Then in 2012, they released their fourth album, Lightning. The album’s debut single, “Let’s Go,” peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
