The eccentric, Icelandic, alternative rock icon know by one simple name, Björk, has just announced that she will be doing a New York tour, but only a select amount of shows.
After recently announcing her forthcoming 8th studio album, Vulnicura, Björk wants to reintroduce herself with some intimate shows. The tour which will begin March 7 at New York’s Carnegie Hall and end June 7 at New York’s Governors Ball, will only consist of 9 shows total.
Björk’s 1993 album, Debut, rose to #3 on the UK Albums chart, produced three top 5 hits, and was certified 3x Platinum. She then followed that up with 1995’s Post, which also rode to the top of the charts to #2, also reaching multi-platinum status. Her next album, 1997’s Homogenic topped out at #4, while 2001’s Vaspertine finally got her a #1 album on the Billboard US Top Electronic Albums Chart.
