Matt and Kim are an American indie dance duo from Brooklyn, New York. They formed in 2004 and is composed of Matt Johnson (vocals/keys) and Kim Schifino (drums). They are well known for their DIY attitude towards their music, and bouncy hits like “Daylight.”
Matt and Kim’s debut self-titled album was released in fall of 2006. The album mostly sold at live shows, and many indie fans praised their work. They gained popularity through playing tours and high profile music festivals such as The Siren Music Festival and Lollapalooza. In 2012, the duo released their single “Let’s Go” as a digital single. It peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
At the beginning of the year, Matt and Kim released their newest single “Get It” in promotion of their fifth album.
