Modest Mouse has released a new video for their song “Coyotes”. “Coyotes” is from the group’s album Strangers to Ourselves, their first album in eight years.
Modest Mouse’s new video follows the path of an unusual coyote riding the train. The video encompasses beautiful shots of the landscape of the train speeds by. The Coyote seems out of place in the city setting where no other people or animals are seen in the video. The coyote wonders around lonely.
According to Consequence of Sound, ”Coyotes” is distinctly whimsical, a gentle and playful ballad marked by light guitar plucking and Isaac Brock’s subdued vocal performance. Under all that playfulness, however, exists some pointed commentary as Brock likens mankind’s lackadaisical views on the environment to “serial killing.”
In addition to the release of this video, Modest Mouse recently released the song “Lampshades on Fire”. Also, the group will be performing in Gasparilla Music Festival taking place March 7-8.
