Seattle natives, Alice in Chains, announced today that they will be performing at the NFC Championship Halftime. The Seattle Seahawks will be up against the Green Bay Packers during the game this weekend.
Spin.com released an article on the twitter announcement, including comparing the performing group to a “12th man” despite having four members.
Alice in Chains is often associated with grunge music and incorporates heavy metal and acoustic elements, not the usual rock that would be selected for these shows. The main draw, is that they are local to Seattle, home of the Centurylink Field.
This isn’t the first time that location has been key in deciding who will be performing. Last year, The Fray performed at Sports Authority Field in Denver, Colorado. Denver won over the New England Patriots 26-16 in that game.
