Jason Pierce and Spiritualized are in the studio working on a follow-up to the 2012 album, “Sweet Heart Sweet Light“. The new Spiritualized project is being produced by Martin “Youth” Glover of Killing Joke.
This news of this collaboration first broke on Facebook, when Killing Joke posted the following announcement, which reads, “Very pleased to announce that Youth will be in the producer seat for the new Spiritualized record. Jason Spaceman has started recording in London at Youth’s studio and will complete the recordings in Spain.”
In the years since 2012 album and Pierce’s diagnosis of liver disease that same year, Spiritualized has done a limited number of shows, including a performance in between the weekends of Coachella, and a show to celebrate the reopening of The Theater at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles – both in 2013. Then the band appeared at the Sled Island Music & Arts Festival in 2014. And, most recently, Spiritualized will be performing at the third annual Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, in May 2015.
