Philly’s own Alex G is headed out on a tour of the US. The tour brief tour will begin in New York on January 8 and wrap up in February. We’ll get to see the local artist when he plays at PhilaMOCA on Februrary 3rd. The tour follows a recent jaunt with Cymbals Eat Guitars. Grab your tickets now to see Alex G when he graces the stage next month. The June 2014 release of his debut album, DSU, was met with a lot of praise, with Rolling Stone naming one of his songs one of their top 50 picks for 2015.
Alex G will be touring alongside Teen Suicide, a noise-pop band out of Maryland. The band was primarily active from 2011 until 2012, continuing to play shows from time to time. In addition to their touring slot with Alex G, the group will also be playing Warped Tour this summer.
Also be hitting the stage will be Girlpool, a girl punk duo hailing from LA. They were recently named to TIME’s 15 Musical Artists to Watch in 2015. The list includes Philly’s The Districts, as well as other rising talents like SZA and iLoveMakonnen.
