Lana Del Rey has announced that she has finished writing nine new songs for her next album, which will be called Honeymoon.
Fader reports that Lana Del Rey made the announcement during an interview with Billboard, and that there will be a cover of Nina Simone’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.”
“The production is perfect; I’m looking for a few more songs to tie everything together,” she told Billboard. “It’s growing into something I really like,” Lana said on the new album’s direction. “I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.”
Lana Del Rey has been in headlines quite a bit recently, for both good and bad press. First, the bad news: she was featured in some footage in which she and Eli Roth are acting out a rape scene, which was originally linked to being a shoot for a Marilyn Manson video, but which Manson and his representatives deny. It’s not all negative news though – the songstress also announced summer 2015 tour dates and recorded the title track for Tim Burton’s latest film, Big Eyes. Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence made the mxdwn list of 2014’s top 40 albums, while the track “Ultraviolence” made mxdwn’s top 40 song of 2014 list.
