A$AP Rocky has released a new single “Pretty Flacko II” via Twitter. The song is the first official release from the artist since the single “Multiply” this past October.
As NME is reporting, the Harlem rapper has teamed up with Chicago production duo Nez and Rio to create the track. As it’s name suggests, the song is a sequel to the original “Pretty Flacko,” which was released in 2012.
The second installment features a much more surreal aesthetic, including a shrill synthesizer loop. The entire song is drenched in echo and reverb, giving the arrangements a heavy, trippy atmosphere. As usual, Rocky’s braggadocious rhymes synch perfectly with the beat, giving the listener something to nod along to as the instrumental continues flying off into outer space.
Other than the release of “Multiply” in October, Rocky has also recently appeared on a remixed version of Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One.” Additionally, he recently headlined the Capitol Hill Block Party in July of 2014.
