On January 13th Animal Collective member Panda Bear, a.k.a. Noah Lennox, will release his brand new solo album Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. This Sunday, in anticipation of the new record, Lennox is hosting a series of radio listening sessions to hear his album in its entirety
The streaming will be beginning with Mary Ann Hobbs’ BBC 6 show—which airs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. GMT—allows for the album’s tracks will be revealed in sequence as the international dateline crosses countries such as Portugal, Colombia, the U.S., Mexico, Australia, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

There is also a website for Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, which brings you to a video of a sparkly hooded and face painted “Grim Reaper” holding a panda bear stuffed animal. This inevitably leads to the destruction on the bear, with psychedelic graphics overlaid on the video of the destruction.
It was 2011 when Lennox last released his last album Tomboy with his own label, Paw Tracks. But was also featured on Daft Punk’s song “Doin’ it Right” from the album Random Access Memories. Lennox has also been busy as a member of Animal Collective with the release of Centipede in 2012, and two EPs after that, “Honeycomb”/”Gotham”, and “Monkey Been to Burn Town.”
