Dispatch, joined by special guest The John Butler Trio, will be returning to the stage at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 8:00PM for “DISPATCH: HUNGER.” This is an event geared to shine a light on the issue of hunger in the United States.
Brad Corrigan, Chad Stokes and Pete Francis met in college and formed Dispatch, not knowing that they were about to become big on the local music scene. Although Dispatch disbanded in 2004, word of mouth kept their music in circulation and actively listened to.
In 2007 they decided to use their platform – the stage- to raise awareness for humanitarian issues in Zimbabwe. From 2011-2013 they worked on their Amplifying Education campaign. This time, the goal to raise awareness is the same, but much closer to home. They’ll be drawing attention to the issue of hunger in the United States with their only performance in 2015.
So why Hunger, you ask?
1 in 6 Americans (46.2 MILLION PEOPLE) struggle to put food on their table and 1 in 5 American children don’t have enough to eat. Hunger in America is an unfortunate reality that we need to do something about. However, we can’t do it without your help. That’s why we’ll be setting up regional volunteer opportunities, service projects, and other opportunities to come together between now and July 11th to make a difference.
