The perfect solution to your inevitable winter blues is a warm dose of live music. And it’s even better when it comes from a setlist stacked with local Philly talent. Headlining the bill are DRGN King, who recently released their stellar new album Baltimore Crush. You can hear the new material when they head back to Johnny Brenda’s in February. The’ll take the stage on February 19th and they’ll be bringing along support from Philly friends Field Mouse and Teen Men.
DRGN King last performed in Philly just a few weeks ago at the start of December. The band got their start roughly four years ago, when founder Dominic Angelella joined forces with his producer friend Brent Reynolds. Their newest release, Baltimore Crush, is the band’s sophomore effort. The album is the follow up to their debut album, Paragraph Nights, which was released in early 2013.
In addition to new tunes from DRGN King, attendees have a lot to look forward to with the opening acts. Teen Men will take the stage first. The experimental pop project is the side project and brain child of The Spinto Band’s Nick Krill. Teen Men, he says, came out of The Spinto Band’s desire to “make music without consequences.” They released their first single, “Hiding Records (So Dangerous)” back in 2013, and have been gaining steam ever since. They put on a very interesting show that you definitely do not want to miss. So be sure to get to JB’s early to catch their set.
Next up on the bill is NYC/Philly ban, Field Mouse. The four-piece played Bourbon & Branch back in August and the Barbary in September. They were out supporting their debut album, Hold Still Life, which dropped in July of 2014. You can take a listen to it here.
For just $10 you can catch all of these great acts at the always awesome Johnny Brenda’s. So you really have no excuse to not grab tickets for the February show. Head to the link below to snag yours!
