Lights w/ X Ambassadors @ Emo’s 2/21

Lights is a Canadian electropop musician, singer, and songwriter. Some of her most notable singles include “Drive My Soul,” “Ice,” “Second Go,” “Toes,” and “Up We Go.” In 2009, she was awarded the Juno Award for New Artist of the Year.

In 2008, Lights toured cities surrounding the Great Lakes in both Canada and the United States. Lights later signed with Toronto-based label Underground Operations. She also signed an American partnership deal with Warner Bros and Doghouse Records. In 2010, she toured with contemporary synthpop artist Owl City in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Lights has won Indie Awards in Favorite Solo Artist and Astral Media Radio’s Favorite Single in 2009. All of her awards were for her debut single “Drive My Soul.” In November 2010, her debut album, The Listening, was certified gold by the Canadian Recording Industry Association. Her most recent album, Little Machines, was released in September of this year. The lead singles off the album include “Up We Go” and “Portal.”
