Broods @ Emo’s Austin 4/2

Broods are a sibling duo from Nelson, New Zealand, composed of Georgia Nott (vocals) and Caleb Nott (production). The two released their single “Bridges,” which reached number eight on the New Zealand single chart. They later signed with Capitol and Polydor Records. Their debut EP, Broods, was released earlier this year and was followed up by the release of their full length album, Evergreen.

The two grew up in a musical family along with three other siblings. They won a talent competition at a mall competition as teenagers in 2010. While attending college, they were members of an indie rock band, The Peasants, who won the Smokefreerockquest music competition in 2011. In late 2012, Georgia and Caleb dropped out of school to pursue Broods.

In 2014, Broods was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and the People’s Choice Award at the New Zealand Music Awards. They were also nominated for an APRA Silver Scroll Award for their hit single “Bridges.”
