LISTEN: James Murphy Releases New Song Made From Tennis Data “Match 176”

LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy has released a new track called “Match 176” from his upcoming LP Remixes Made With Tennis Data.

Murphy and IBM announced the project before the U.S. Open, with plan to use data collected from the matches to make an original score for each match. The project led to the creation of more than 400 hours’ worth of music from the tennis data, and Murphy already released two remixes, entitled “Match 4” and “Match 104.”

The LP will consist of 12 electronic songs made in part by the algorithms that Murphy and IBM worked on. The album will be released November 19 via IBM’s SoundCloud account, according to prettymuchamazing.com. Listen to a clip of the newest release, “Match 176,” below.
