After the success of his latest record, Single Mothers, and the anticipated release of the follow-up record, Absent Fathers, Justin Townes Earle has confirmed dates for a tour that will begin in Winter 2015.
Justin Townes Earle is of that rare breed of recording artists that can’t be specifically put into any particular genre box. On one hand, his music could be considered a kind of alt-country, and on another, it feels like electric folk music with a tinge of old-school country swagger thrown in. Whatever genre he may fit into, Justin Townes Earle is riding the crest of the wave that has formed from the release of his Single Mothers album, and, when paired with the upcoming Absent Fathers record, you get a double album that is loaded with confessional, stinging lyrics and a biting guitar twang that, at least in the case of the former record, has been hailed by several critics as one of the best albums of 2014.
