It was just last week that rising local talent, CRUISR, were opening for British sensation (and Taylor Swift’s newest favorite band), The 1975. That night they played at The Tower. And according to reports from the show, they completely owned the stage. They performed for a few thousand excited fans at the sold out gig, mixing their set with both new material and old material. They definitely earned themselves some new fans that night and it’s safe to say that we can expect big things from these guys.
Their tour with The 1975 is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that CRUISR will be slowing down anytime soon. Next up, they’ll be taking the stage at The Barbary to perform a headlining slot for their adoring Philly fans. You can catch CRUISR on January 15th. If you missed them while they were touring with The 1975, this is the perfect opportunity to see these guys in an intimate venue fresh off of that recent experience.
The band also recently signed with Vagrant Records. In addition to releasing their new record this September, they also had a new name, or at least a new way of spelling their name, to present to fans, having changed from Cruiser to CRUISR. You may have had a chance to check them out when they performed at Made in America, their first gig under the new moniker. Grab your tickets for the January show and come out to support one of the best bands Philly has to offer right now.
