NEW MUSIC ALERT: Mamiffer Releases New Song “Flower Of The Field”

A new record from a resurrected group is out on the horizon, and they have released their first of what we hope to be many more singles in the future. Mamiffer’s “Flower Of The Field” is a powerful, harmonious new single that triumphantly lets all within earshot know that Mamiffer is coming back to explode our living room speakers.

Mamiffer was originally meant to be a solo effort from singer/pianist Faith Coloccia, but that quickly fell through the cracks when artists from various outfits such as Locrian and Circle joined the ranks and added their input to Coloccia’s conceptual tracks. Coloccia eventually recruited her husband to the group effort, and the whole project gained momentum from there. Coloccia’s husband, as you may or may not know, is none other than former ISIS frotman Aaron Turner, and his contribution to the record is heard throughout “Flower Of The Field.” ISIS, which broke up in mid-2010, was recently drawn to the terrorist group that harbors the same name after some off color comments were made by the Secretary of Defense, a controversy that was quickly laid to rest once the comments were revealed to be relating to the latter of the two groups.

Though disbanding some four years ago, the influence of ISIS can be felt throughout “Flower Of The Field,” a song that is sparse in terms of production, but loaded to the brim with regards to heavy guitar, bass, and drum injections. The combination of the two bring a sound that is unlike most of Mamiffer’s catalog. The new record, Statu Nascendi is but a taste of what will hopefully be a new album coming out soon.
