In 2010 Johnathan Clay formed Jamestown Revival with his childhood friend Zach Chance. In less than six months of the formation, the duo was featured in Rolling Stone magazine for the Cover of the Rolling Stone contest. Clay also featured in four songs from the 2012 film LOL, staring Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Ashley Greene, Adam Sevani, and Douglas Booth.
In Clays early days, he found it hard to manage most school and music so he started spending more time on his talent. His debut album, Whole New Me, was sold on his tour across his home state, Texas. He later moved from San Marcos to Austin and issued another album, Back to Good. Several of the songs off the album were featured on shows including The Real World, The Hills, and Newport Harbor.
Jamestown Revival recently released, Utah: A Collection Of Recorded Moments From The Wasatch Mountains, this year. The leading single off the album is “Medicine.” Clay stated “We wanted to take notes from the masters like Guy Clark and John Prine, and we wanted to mix that with a little bit of rock edge from Creedence or the Stones…we also wanted to make people feel like when they listen to the record that they’re sitting in the room with us.”
