One of the UK’s monster festivals – Reading/Leeds, taking place August 27-30, 2015, has announced a first batch of performances. And with Metallica confirmed as the first headliner, 2015’s festival proves to be a rock fest again!
“We are obviously beyond thrilled to be returning to headline the magnificent and mighty double shot at Reading and Leeds for the fourth time,” said drummer Lars Ulrich. “We are practically the house band. Bring it!”
After fabulous performance at Glastonbury 2014, in spite of the mixed reaction to heavy metal legends headlining the gig, Metallica are invited to headline this year’s Reading/Leeds festival, being the only headliners announced yet.
As reported by theguardian.com, festival organizer Melvin Benn said he was “excited” about the Reading and Leeds Metallica booking:
“Their amazing live show promises to be a favorite with rock, metal and genuine music fans at the UK’s most important music festival, perfectly topping a bill of brilliant acts from across the genres.”
The other bands announced to participate are California post-hardcore outfit Pierce The Veil, drum’n’bass performer Wilkinson, Swedish punk rockers Refused, eccentric rap project Run The Jewels, London-based singer-songwriter Jamie T and Atlanta’s Manchester Orchestra.
According to Kerrang, Pierce The Veil can’t wait to take part in one of the world’s biggest festivals:
“We’ve been dying to do these Festivals ever since we started touring in the UK!” reveals frontman Vic Fuentes. “It’s such an honor to be a part of something that people wait all year round to see.”
