The American indie rock band or shoegazers known as IO Echo, have released a free to download mixtape called I’ve Been Vaping Your Tears.

The 4-song mixtape includes a next level cover of Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker” which features electronic producer Tokimonsta, two versions of a song called “Microwave” and “No Getting Over Me” featuring NAR. The beautifully slowed down version of “Heartbreaker” is almost unrecognizable until the hook kicks in, mixing samples, electronic basslines, piano, angelic background vocals, and an extremely original sung rendition of the lead single off Mariah’s 1999 smash hit seventh studio album, Rainbow.
Other songs such as the “Microwave” remix, are almost spooky up until the break beat hits, and the track becomes almost hip hop like.
After forming in Los Angeles and releasing the single “While You Were Sleeping” in 2010, the band has since dropped a self-titled EP in 2012 and their debut album, Ministry of Love in 2013.
IO Echo have opened for Nine Inch Nails, appeared at Coachella and Lollapalooza in 2013 and toured with the likes of Garbage.
