Legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan have released new song “Necklace” off their highly anticipated new album A Better Tomorrow, which will be released on December 2nd.

This is Wu-Tang’s third single released, following “Keep Watch” and “Ruckus In B Minor,” in promotion of their new album. Despite internal fighting and multiple delays, the group is still set to release the new album on December 2nd.

The rap group’s sixth album, A Better Tomorrow, will celebrate the group’s twentieth anniversary, and will be released by Warner Bros Records. The group has been announcing new material as early as 2011, but ran into problems with internal disputes and legal matters.

Earlier this year, RZA and Raekwon had a public dispute over the direction of the new album, with Raekwon telling Rolling Stone,

“The bottom line…I’m not happy with the direction of the music and I’m not happy with how dudes is treating dudes’ business. What are we giving the fans? What are we giving the people that help us be here? Fans want the best and I have to sit here and work that hard to give them the best. Period.”

In May, RZA and Raekwon settled their dispute and finished recording A Better Tomorrow, and set a release date with Warner Bros of December 2nd.

Last year, Wu-Tang Clan performed with a hologram of late member Ol’ Dirty Bastard at Rock the Bells in San Bernardino, Ca. Raekwon spoke about ODB’s absence with Hip Hop DX stating,

“I kind of just miss the energy of him being around, him just being there, or just spotting him from across the room like, ‘Look at this dude over there.’ But at the end of the day, once you miss a member out of your family B, it’s never the same. All due praises to Ol’ Dirty, though.”

According to Pitchfork, in addition to A Better Tomorrow, the group has also recorded Once Upon Time in Shaolin, a secretly recorded album that will not be made available to the public, and will instead be showed in museums until it is bought by the highest bidder.

Wu-Tang Clan’s latest release, “Necklace,” is about jewelry and chains. RZA recently told Billboard about the concept of the album, stating,

“The album has a small concept in a sense: Musically, it travels from a guy who is going through difficulties, tries to find himself, gets involved with some violence, some troubles, but then realizes that it’s best sometimes to walk away from the past and all the bad times and maybe work on making his life better, and making a better tomorrow.”

Wu-Tang Clan’s sixth studio release A Better Tomorrow is out December 2nd on Warner Bros Records, and will mark the iconic rap group’s twentieth anniversary.
