No better time to be in focus than now! UK post-punk outfit Gang Of Four has announced the first single from a follow-up to their 2011’s Content LP.
With a change of lead singer from Jon King to John ‘Gaoler’ Sterry back in 2012, the only remaining founding member now is guitarist Andy Gill, as reported by Stereogum. Let’s see how that affects the band’s sound in the new songs.
‘What Happens Next’, Gang Of Four’s eighth studio album, due to be released February 24 in the U.S. and March 2 in the UK via Metropolis Records, will be featuring guest vocalists and instrumentalists like Big Pink’s Robbie Furze, German singer Herbert Grönemeyer and Japanese guitarist Hotei. But the most remarkable collaboration is Kills’ vocalist Alison Mosshart, who will appear on several album tracks, including ‘Broken Talk’.
The track itself is what we imagine saying ‘retro industrial rock’n’roll’, in a best way possible. Alison sounds incredible, just as always; Sterry is a good support, and the music makes you wanna move to the beat, making us expect for the new record even stronger.
And while, enjoy a lead single from the upcoming Gang Of Four’s record below.
