WATCH: Red Fang Slings Sausages In New Video For “Crows In Swine”

Portland’s stoner metal band Red Fang have released a new animated video for “Crows In Swine.”

Portland’s heavy metal band Red Fang have released a new animated video for “Crows In Swine,” off their latest album Whales & Leeches.

The animated video features a young girl who escapes her soon-to-be-destroyed village with an idol and is chased after by barbarians. She runs to hills where she finds the Red Fang gods who come to life and save her village.

The video is a departure from Red Fang’s typical video style, which usually features Pabst beer, cars, and destroying things. The band decided to make something different by teaming up with animator Adam Avilla, who came up with the barbarian concept of the video and let each band member choose a weapon.

Lead guitarist/vocalist Bryan Giles told Loudwire, “I am blown away by the video Adam made for us. It’s brutally cute. I wish I was as cool as the character I am in it in real life. Recliners, sausage, guitars and kittens!!”

“Crows In Swine” is off of Red Fang’s third studio album, Whales and Leeches, which was released in 2013, and debuted at #66 on the Billboard Album chart. The album was produced by Chris Funk of The Decemberists and mixed by Vance Powell.

The band told Spin that the making of their third album was a rush job, bassist Aaron Beam said, “We had almost no songs when we started. It was like frantic-panic songwriting sessions.”

Metal Injection’s Chuck Loesch stated in a review of the album, “Once Whales and Leeches hits your speakers, any doubt about Red Fang falls aside as they find their feet on solid ground with the new record. A mixture of the commanding riff and the sparse hook structure on the last album gives a balance they had not yet accomplished.”

Since their third studio release, Red Fang toured throughout 2013 and 2014, which included playing at the Australian Soundwave Festival and a performance on Late Show With David Letterman in January. They also released a music video for “Blood Like Cream,” which featured Portland-native Fred Armisen.

Red Fang have also announced new tour dates with Opeth and In Flames on the “Communion of Sirens” tour, which kicks off on December 3rd in Chicago, and next year the band will be playing at Timbrr! Winter Music Festival in Washington and Desert Fest in London.

You can catch the stoner rockers on the “Communion of Sirens” tour, which starts December 3rd and will continue throughout the United States until January.
