KONGOS w/ Sir Sly & Colony House @ Electric Factory 2/12

South African band of brothers, KONGOS, will be making their triumphant return to Philadelphia this February. You’ve already had a ton of opportunities to see them perform, as the foursome has played a slew of shows in Philly this year. The shows have ranged from a free Radio 104.5 Block Party to an opening slot at the 104.5 Birthday show, to their most recent appearance at the Made in America Festival playing to thousands of fans. Each of those three performances have seen the band perform on a big stage ahead of other bigger bands.

But now, we’re thrilled to see them headlining their own show at The Electric Factory. You can catch the show on February 12th. This one is already proving to be a very popular event, so grab your tickets now before it’s too late. Their music is almost inescapable at this point as they continue to ride the success of their February release, Lunatic. Lunatic is the debut studio album from the band, who actually self-released the record back in 2012. With catchy tunes like “Come With Me Now” and “I’m Only Joking,” it’s almost impossible to get these guys out of your head.

Support for their February show at The Electric Factory will come in the form of the always fabulous Sir Sly. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing these guys perform in an intimate setting at Johnny Brenda’s, and then to a much larger crowd at Festival Pier, so we’re excited to see how they fare on the Electric Factory stage. Sir Sly are currently out supporting their debut album, You Haunt Me, which they released in September of this year. Philly fans got of taste of the new material when Sir Sly performed at the final Radio 104.5 Block Party of the season. Also opening for KONGOS this February will be Colony House, who just played at Milkboy back in October. The Tennessee brothers released their debut album, When I Was Younger, back in July. We’re excited to see more from all of these fresh new bands this February.
