Jay Wayne Jenkins, known by his stage name Jeezy or Young Jeezy, is an American hip hop artists from Atlanta, Georgia. He is the de facto leader of the Southern hip hop group, United Street Dopeboyz of America. Jeezy has also been a member of Boyz n da Hood and Black Mafia Family. His career started in 2001 when he singed to an independent label. He later released his solo major-label debut, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, in 2005. The albums lead single was “Soul Survivor which featured R&B singer Akon, and became a top-ten hit in the US.

Jeezy’s second album, The Inspiration, was released in 2006, and was followed by his album The Recession in 2008. Both albums consisted of number one singles. Jeezy has featured on many hip hop and R&B artist number one singles aswell, including “Say I” by Christina Millian, “I’m So Paid” by Akon, “Hard” by Rihanna, and “Love in This Club” by Usher. Jeezy’s success throughout his career has gotten him over four Grammy nominations.

Jeezy recently released his seventh studio album, Seen It All: The Autobiography, in September of this year. The album was his fifth studio album released on Def Jam records. It was supported by two singles “Me Ok” and “Seen It All.” The album features guest appearances from Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Akon, Lil Boosie, Game, Future, and August Alsina. On Jeezy’s page on the Def Jam website, he states,”Basically, I’m a real nigga so I can relate more to a lot of cats…I don’t just do music for the clubs, I do music for the struggle. I do music for everyday niggas, the kids who ain’t got no sense of direction. I’m trying to restore some of the morals back into the game, as far as the street.”
