WATCH: Qui Release New Video For “I Definitely Love You” Featuring David Yow and Kevin Rutmanis

Qui just premiered a new video for their song “I Definitely Love You” via Joyful Noise.

Jesus Lizard vocalist David Yow and Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins) are in the video, however they are not on the recording of the song. David Yow’s vocals are not on the album because of scheduling difficulties.

The video is quite bizarre with a whirlwind of images of fighting, music-playing, and dancing. The video begins with a bunch of uncomfortable face close-ups, setting the atmosphere of the video.

The song starts with guitar and drums building up the sound. The vocals are well harmonized and the tune sung seems to contrast with the background music that is much more rock. Touching on the complexities of dating and relationships, the song’s lyrics are interesting if one takes the time to listen.

About half way through the song the lyrics get repetitive. One phrase is sung over and over, while a whirlwind of images complement it. The song’s tune begins to wind down here, with the drums and guitar getting softer, until just the piano is playing in the background.

The band’s album Life, Water, Living came out February of this year after the rock group took a five year hiatus. Guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk was on a tour of Iraq.

Look at the video for “Mucho Sex in America”, the first single off their album Life, Water, Living.

Another video they performed for their song “Whateryadoin?” can be seen here.

Qui are currently touring Europe.
