In This Moment has released a new video for their single “Sick Like Me”.
The song was recently released and is from their upcoming fifth studio album called Black Widow, which will be out November 18 via Atlantic Records.
The heavy metal band released an audio visualizer video when the song came out, which you can watch here. The music video keeps the creepy element of the audio visualizer video.
Singer Maria Brink has reportedly said that the song is about embracing parts of her she used to keep hidden that she considers a little bit “wrong”, but then you find another person who sees those “flaws” in you and finds them beautiful.
The embrace of darkness can definitely be seen in this video. The video flashes between images of Brink decked in strange outfits. She sings in scenes with a spiderweb and a sign that reads “sick”, as well as sits in a bathtub raking talons through the air.
The tune of the song starts off like a horrifying lullaby and then the harsh drums come in, along with a sound similar to sirens. Dark shadows of the musicians rocking to the music are shown. Brink’s voice rings powerful throughout and the shots are captivating.
Be prepared to feel like Halloween has come early and you’ve stepped into some kind of Haunted House, a trip through the subconscious.
It’s a video that’s one hell of a ride. Watch below:
