Rock legends, The Who, are headed out on a 50th Anniversary tour next year that will see them covering much of North America. The two-leg tour will begin this April with the first stop going down in Tampa on April 15th. And lucky Philadelphians will have two opportunities to see the legends in 2015. The first Philly stop happens on May 17th when The Who head to Wells Fargo Center.
Then, as part of the second leg of the tour, they’ll be back in Philly with another stop at Wells Fargo on November 4th (You can also catch them in Atlantic City on May 22nd at Boardwalk Hall). The November 4th date will also be the final date of the lengthy 50th Anniversary Tour. Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss your chance to see The Who when they come to town.
The Who formed 50 years ago, back in 1964 and they have long been considered one of the most influential rock bands, up there with the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. They are also one of the world’s best-selling rock bands, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. The three founding members of The Who, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and John Entwistle all grew up in the same London town. They would meet drummer Keith Moon later on.
This 2015 anniversary tour is being billed as their final tour, so this may very well be your last chance to catch the legends of rock live. Just last month they released a new song, “Be Lucky,” that is part of an upcoming compilation that is said to be released this month. Named after the tour, look out for the upcoming album entitled, The Who Hits 50! It will contain hits as well as more obscure tunes, as well as the new track, “Be Lucky,” which is the first bit of new material from the band since their 2006 release, Endless Wire.
Grab your tickets now to see The Who when they head to Philly in May (or November)!
