Reckless Kelly is a local American country band. They originally formed in Bend, Oregon, but moved to Austin in 1997. The band’s name was inspired by an Australian Bank Robber Ned Kelly. The band consists of brothers Willy and Cody Braun, as well as David Abeyta, Jay Nazz, and Joe Miller. They have toured with their fathers band, Muzzie Bruan & the Boys, a western swing band that will be the supporting act for the Austin show.

Reckless Kelly’s debut album, Millican, was released in 1998. In the early 2000s, Reckless Kelly released their Acoustic: Live at Stubb’s and The Day. Their third album, Under the Table and Above the Sun (2003), sparked the bands recognition and drew in attention from music press. After Reckless Kelly’s initial rise to fame, they released Wicked Twisted Road and another live album, Reckless Kelly Was Here.

In 2008, Reckless Kelly released Bulletproof on Yep Roc Records. The album includes tracks on sociopolitical history such as the Iraq War and Hurricane Katrina. Their latest album is titled, Long Night Moon, which was released last summer. Long Night Moon is the follow up to their 2011 Grammy Nominated Good Luck & True Love, which took home four Lone Star Music Awards, and had three singles reach number one on Texas radio.
