Railroad Earth w/ SHOOK TWINS @ Stubb’s Bar-B-Q 1/31

Railroad Earth is an Americana/newgrass band from Stillwater, New Jersey. Their name was brought to them by their longtime manager, Brian Ross, and borrowed from the Jack Kerouac short story October in the Railroad Earth. Railroad Earth’s music combines elements of bluegrass, rock and roll, jazz, Celtic and more. The group is known for its extensive live improvisation and lyrical songwriting within an acoustic base.

Overall, Railroad Earth has released 7 studio albums. The groups self-titled fifth album was released in 2010. It included their hits “Jupiter and the 119” and “Too Much Information” along with an 11 minute instrumental titled “Spring-Heeled Jack.” It is the bands longest studio track to date.

Early this year, Railroad Earth released their seventh album, Last of the Outlaws. In the midst of their success of their new albums, Railroad Earth headlined Red Rocks for the second time, selling out the venue. The show was recorded live and is set to be released via DVD.
