December will bring Wilco back to their hometown of Chicago with the six-night residency called Wilco Winterlude.

The residency will be hosted at the Riviera Theatre and each performance will feature a different setlist, each of which will be made up of songs throughout the band’s 20-year career. Wilco Winterlude is part of Chicago-area radio station WXRT’s Holiday Concert For the Kids. Attendees are encouraged to bring new toys and books to the shows so that they can be donated to local children’s hospitals.

The band will also be touring briefly in October, but live performances aren’t Wilco’s only big news for their 20th anniversary. They will also be releasing two archival box sets, Alpha Mike Foxtrot and What’s Your 20. The former includes four discs with 77 rare studio and live recordings, and those who order it will receive a free instant download of “A Magazine Called Sunset.” The latter box set is a greatest hits collection from Wilco’s eight studio albums. Pre-orders are happening through the group’s website, but both compilations will be available November 27 via Nonesuch Records.

Lead vocalist Jeff Tweedy has been busy with Tweedy, the musical duo with his son. This summer, they released three new tracks: “Wait for Love,” “Fake Fur Coat” and “Flowering.” They also performed for NPR’s All Things Considered tiny desk concert series and released a music video for “Low Key,” yet another song from their latest album Sukierae. In November, Jeff Tweedy will participate in the Mavis Staples tribute concert in Chicago as well.
