International rock extravaganza Roadburn Festival has officially announced their 2015 lineup. Find out which bands will be bringing their hardcore sounds to The Netherlands!
Returning for its 20th year, the Roadburn Festival will be held April 9-12 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
The lineup boasts acts such as Eyehategod, American sludge-core band hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. Also referred to as EHG, the band is most renowned for their dark guitar riffs blended with similarly anguished lyrics. Recognized with founding the sludge-core genre, numerous bands have looked to the group as inspiration for their work. Established in 1988, the band continues to remain true to their propagandist-fueled roots.
Eyehategod will be given two sets at the festival, playing at the main stage on Thursday, April 9 and in Het Patronaat, Friday, April 10.
Brooklyn-based experimental metal band Tombs is also set to take the stage. Formed in 2007, the band combines multiple styles of metal, including the likes of black metal, sludge metal, and doom metal. Tombs has credited bands such as Joy Division, Neurosis, Swans, Darkthrone, Black Flag, Deathspell Omega, Bauhaus, and Leviathan as the source of their inspiration. The band will play on Saturday, April 11.
American black metal band Black Anvil will also be given a set at the festival. Since their formation in 2007, the trio has established a name for themselves within the New York black metal scene. Influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Twisted Sister, and Black Flag, Black Anvil will bring their hardcore tunes to Roadburn on Saturday, April 11.
Roadburn, which was curated by Ivar Bjørnson and Wardruna‘s Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik, will also feature Dutch pop-rock band Focus, English gothic rock group Fields of Nephilim, and the Norwegian progressive black metal Enslaved.
Tickets for Roadburn Festival 2015 will go on sale on Thursday, October 16, 2014.
