The group tUnE-yArDs released a new video for the song “Real Thing” today via NPR. “Real Thing” is from tUnE-yArDs new album Nikki Nack.
The video places the viewer in a strange world of manikins and segmented body parts. tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus, is seen as a head in a packaging box for the majority of the video.
“I believe Real Thing was the one song I didn’t want to make a video for. It has too many images of its own in the lyrics, and could mean so many different things for different listeners…I love leaving room for audiences to paint their own mental pictures. What changed my mind is wanting so much for this particular song to be heard by more people” said Garbus in press release about the music video.
In addition to the release of the new video, tUnE-yArDs is currently on tour and has announced more shows starting in December. The December tour dates are listed below.
