Yusuf/Cat Stevens is headed out on tour this fall. The “Peace Train…Late Again Tour” kicks off in London this November, but will make its way to the US in December. And as luck would have it, our city is the first stop on the US portion of his tour. He’ll perform at The Tower on 12/4. Grab your tickets now. You don’t want to miss this one!
Yusuf recently had to cancel his performance in NYC due to disagreements with their ticket laws. Yusuf has long been a supporter of paperless tickets, as a deterrent against scalpers who sell tickets at a much higher price. In New York, their laws require that all tickets must be paper. So as a result, he felt the need to cancel that show with the hopes of possibly playing there in the future. In his written statement, he said, “Looks like the Peace Train is going to arrive at New YOrk a little bit later than expected.”
But, the great news for Philly is that we don’t have any such laws. So we will all be able to enjoy Yusuf, paperless tickets and all. This tour is his first tour of the US in over 35 years. The singer/songwriter formerly known as Cat Stevens, will be releasing his newest album “Tell ‘Em I’m Gone” on October 27th. The album will include 5 new songs of his own, and 5 older songs. Rick Rubin is co-producing the album, so this is definitely something you’ll want to check out.
