Ryan Adams is really adding to his great year. This time it’s a great cover for a great song – Foreigner’s ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’, a 1984 legendary ballad, given even more might and lyricism.
Ryan Adams, known for his love to the most unusual collaborations and great cover songs (sometimes supported by the other eminent guest stars), has performed ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ as a part of his performance on NPR’s World Cafe. The song seems like really focused on a song’s essentials, giving it space and sadness carried out through the generations. A powerful ‘throwback to the eighties‘, one might say.
Adams, whose self-titled current album reached Number Six in the UK Chart in September, has also stated recently he was about to make an official release of ‘lost’ album ‘Blackhole’, made around 2007 while battling drink and drug addiction and gaining his stardom among the fans.
“I think I’m going to release ‘Blackhole’ next year, maybe on Record Store Day,” Adams told NME. “It’s mastered and the artwork is done, so it’s there. It’s just a matter of whether it’s the right time.”
