Dean Ween Announces Fall 2014 Tour Dates

The Dean Ween Group will be headlining a series of shows on the East Coast this fall after having opened for Primus on tour earlier in 2014.

Though the tour is brief, the individual dates span three months and the geographic locations are spread out along the East Coast. The group will be playing a show in New Jersey on October 30 and one in New York on November 1, but does not seem to have a Halloween show planned yet. According to Brooklyn Vegan, tickets are already on sale for both of those shows. Keep scrolling to see the full tour dates and locations.

In other Dean Ween news, Dean – real name Mickey Melchiondo – admitted on Facebook this summer that he recorded the guitar solo for the track “Transdermal Celebration” on Carlos Santana’s guitar, pedalboard and amp with Santana’s knowledge. The equipment ended up in their hands via a backline company delivering it for a performance and an opportunistic roadie. The guitar solo recording is the one that ended up on the final cut of the album, a secret which has only now been revealed.

Aaron Freeman, also known as Gene Ween from the band Ween, revealed his own stories in spring 2014 when he said in an interview that the band was over years before they officially broke up. Ween was formed in 1984 and kept making music until 2012, but it seems as though that was definitely the end of the road for them, as Freeman announced that same year that he would not return to Ween in any way.

Soon after Ween’s breakup, Dean was busy with his own projects, including an appearance on Noisey’s Guitar Moves series on YouTube. He also announced by the end of 2012 that he wanted to record solo album with Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age as producer, and in spring 2013 released new material with band Moistboyz.
