Weezer is an American rock band that formed in 1992 in Los Angeles. The band consist of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals). Throughout their career in music, Weezer has sold 9,200,000 albums in the US and over 17,525,000 worldwide.
Weezers debut self-titled album was released in 1994. Their singles “Buddy Holly“, “Undone – The Sweater Song” and “Say It Ain’t So,” led the album to achieve triple-platinum success. Their second album, Pinkerton, had a darker, more abrasive sound than their first release. Although Pinkerton received mixed reviews, it is now frequently cited as one of the best albums of the 1990s. Weezer took a short hiatus, and returned in 2001 with another self-titled album. The album was promoted by the single “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun.”
Weezers fifth album, Make Believe, was released in 2005. Despite the mixed reviews it received, “Beverly Hills” became Weezer’s first single to top the US Modern Rock Tracks chart and the first to reach the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. Weezers upcoming release will be their ninth album. The album is titled, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, and is set to be released October 7 of this year.
