Train is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. The band currently consist of Pat Monahan (vocals), Jimmy Stafford (lead guitar), Jerry Becker (rhythm guitar and piano), Hector Maldonado (bass), and Drew Shoals (drums). Train achieved mainstream success when they released their debut self titled album in 1998. The debut consisted of their single “Meet Virginia.”
Train’s follow up album, Drops of Jupiter, was released in 2001 and contained the lead single “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me).” The single won two Grammy Awards in 2002, and the album was later certified double platinum in the United States and Canada. The album remains the band’s best-selling album to date. In late 2009, Train released their album, Save Me, San Francisco, which spawned three singles including “Hey, Soul Sister,” “If It’s Love” and “Marry Me.” The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified “Hey, Soul Sister” six times platinum. The album itself was certified gold by the RIAA and the Australian Recording Industry Association.
Train’s most recent albums, Bulletproof Picasso, is their seventh studio album. The album was released on Columbia Records in September of this year. “Angel in Blue Jeans” was the first track to be released from the album, and was followed by “Cadillac Cadillac.” See them perform the songs live on their latest national tour!
