Bell & Sebastian have announced the release of their new album, Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance. The album is set for release on January 20 via Matador Records.
Belle & Sebastian formed in 1996. The release of this album marks the 9th for the band. Their last album was Write About Love which debuted in 2010. According to Consequence of Sound, “The LP was mastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, with additional mixing done in Glasgow with longtime collaborator Tony Doogan”.
In addition to the release of this album, lead singer Stuart Murdoch wrote and directed a musical feature film. The film, which is titled God Help The Girl was released on September 5. In a press release Murdoch discussed his goals for the film to share the story of a boy and girl in the city during summer time. Alongside the release of the film, its 28 song soundtrack was released a few days prior on September 2.
Belle & Sebastian have also revealed plans for a 2014/2015 tour. The tour will include some dates in North America starting October 1. More information about Belle & Sebastian can be found on their official website. The groups current tour dates can be found below.
