Tory Lanez has paired up with producer RL Grime to create a new song “I-95”.
As the Toronto rapper/singer gets close to releasing Lost Cause which comes out September 29, he introduces this new song, which was produced by RL Grime, Noah Breakfast and Grave Goods.
The background of “I-95” is fresh and evokes a feeling of something dream-like. It tends to be more interesting than the lyrics which touch on the typical subjects of women and being an entertainer.
Lanez’s voice is quite distinguished and surprising for someone who is a rapper, considering how high his voice can go. In the background, there’s a considerably deeper voice that goes in and out of the song that complements his much higher one well.
Lanez clearly has something of a unique sound for the hip-hop/R&B scene he is exploring. At only 17 years old, this artist started to be noticed in this area of music.
RL Grime, LA producer of hip hop, also recently paired up with How To Dress Well to produce the song “Reminder”.
