In celebration of their new album Hold My Home due out October 21, The Cold War Kids have announced an appearance at The Best Fest: An Evening to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison this Sunday, September 28. Joining Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, Brandon Flowers and many more at The Fonda Theatre, the band will commemorate the late George Harrison by playing some of his music.
Cold War Kids will then kick off their intimate headline tour beginning at The Sinclair in Boston on October 20. The will hit the road until late November, ending with the recently announced hometown performance on November 20 at the Regent Theatre in LA and a final performance at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz.
Fans will get the chance to hear new songs performed live, a week before the release of new album Hold My Home on KCRW’s Monday Becomes Eclectic on October 14. The quartet will also film an episode of the award-winning music TV series Guitar Center sessions on November 28. Hosted by Nic Harcourt, the show will feature the band which New York Times wrote, “plays the kind of elastic, vaguely soul-inspired indie rock (the vocalist Nathan Willett commands a sinewy, undulating falsetto) that gets music critics shimmying in their desk chairs,” and MTV News describes, “seeing them live is seeing them at their best. It’s a stage show full of raucous vigor…there’s never a dull moment.” So whether you catch them on Guitar Sessions or live on tour, CWK promise a good show.
