This week, Interpol has released a new music video for their single, “Twice As Hard”, from El Pintor.
Paul Banks directed the video for “Twice As Hard”, and centers around the sport of boxing.
The video opens with a close up of a man, wearing a “The Mexicutioner” t-shirt, wrapping his hands to protect them. Next, the camera pans over the other boxers working out in the gym, before settling on two men jumping rope in front of a mirror.
Then, for the remainder of the video, the camera alternates between shots of male and female boxers training and taking part in matches. With lyrics like, “I give it back to you, twice as hard,” the boxing theme is fitting. And, the music itself would be appropriate to play in workout class, because it starts off slowly and builds to a crescendo.
