LISTEN: Lazyeyes Releases New Song “Islip” and Announces New EP

Lazyeyes have released the first single “Islip” off their upcoming album, which they have announced is due out in December 2014. This will be the sophomore EP from the three-piece shoegaze / dream-pop band from Brooklyn, following their debut self-titled EP released early in 2013.

Exclaim describes the track for the press release, saying, “An ode to the Long Island town, “Islip” starts off with heavy-sounding bass before morphing into an upbeat, jangling number with hooky guitars and rolling drums. There’s a fuzzed out Kiwipop surf vibe to it all as well, with just a hint of darkened eyeliner.”

The tune cheerfully tumbles along with a quick drumbeat, wandering electric guitar riffs and entrancing harmonies from the trio of Brooklynites. Formed in the summer of 2012, the relatively young band have garnered accolades in their successful career thus far, peaking in a sold out record release show at Williamsburg’s Glasslands. Composed of guitarist and vocalist Jason Abrishami, bassist Paul Volpe, and drummer Jeremy Sampson, Lazyeyes will be holding a single release party at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on September 26.
