Seekae is an electronic trio out of Sydney, Australia that fuses electropop, dubstep, ambient, and house with the occasional 8-bit. Comprised of Alex Cameron, George Nicholas, and John Hassell, they have been nominated for four Australian Independent Music Awards and have received Mojo Magazine’s Album of the Month in the UK for +Dome.
They released their debut album Sound of Trees Falling in 2008 independently which won them the Australian Arts Council Soundclash grant, while their sophomore album +Dome released in March of 2011 via Popfrenzy, was used to expand their musical techniques and abilities, and ultimately brought them international attention.
Seekae actually released their third album The Worry just last week via Future Classic. Their sound is similar to Boards of Canada and Tycho; fans of PVT and James Blake should also give Seekae a listen.
