Lights has released brand new track “Running With The Boys” off her third studio album Little Machines due out September 3. The Canadian electro-pop artist follows up her recent video release for the upcoming album’s lead single “Up We Go” with the second single off the album.
Lights sat down with Billboard to discuss the release of the second single, saying, “It feels really honest and nostalgic. ‘Running With The Boys” is about being a kid again, and that sort of innocence and imagination that made life so exciting. As an adult, you know a lot more, and in the music industry that’s sometimes a little crippling when it comes to creativity. For the creation of this album, I had to look back at that a little bit and enjoy making music again.”
Percussion explodes like neon fireworks around her sentimental lyrics in the uplifting and adolescent dance tune. In support of the upcoming record, Lights will be performing a special show in Times Square on September 30 before touring.
