Circa Survive is an American rock band from Philadelphia that formed in 2004. The band consists of former members from Saosin, This Day Forward, and Taken.
Circa Survive quickly made a name for themselves in the indie music scene in a little over two years. Their first album was titled, Juturna, and was released in the Spring of 2005. Their Second album, On Letting Go, was released two years later in 2007. Both of the albums were released on Equal Vision Records. Their third album, Blue Sky Noise, was released in 2010 on Atlantic Records. For the release of their fourth album, Violent Waves, Circa Survive split with Atlantic Records, and released the record independently.
This year, Pitchfork announced that Circa Survive would be releasing a 7-inch vinyl record split with the band Sunny Day Real Estate for Record Store Day 2014. The split features “Lipton Witch” by Sunny Day Real Estate, and “Bad Heart” by Circa Survive. Some of Circa Survives most well known singles are “Act Appalled,” “In Fear and Faith,” “The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose,” “Get Out” and “Suitcase.”
