In 2009, siblings Graham, Julie, Noah, and Sydney joined forces to create Echosmith. Their youngest member, Graham, is just 15 years old. And the oldest sibling Jamie tops off the group at only 21. But despite their youth, the members of Echosmith are quickly making a name for themselves. Their hit single “Cool Kids” was released in October of 2013. The track was part of their debut album Talking Dreams released that same year. The song was an iTunes Single of the Week and experienced a ton of commercial success. It peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Prior to the success of “Cool Kids” Echosmith had released their very first single, “Tonight We’re Making History.” And the song managed to make some history for the foursome, as it was featured in a promo for the Summer Olympics. They made their late night premiere earlier this summer with a performance on Conan. In June, they released an acoustic EP, Acoustic Dreams. The EP features 4 acoustic versions of tracks form Talking Dreams and one new song, “Terminal.”
If you’re a fan of “Cool Kids,” you’ll definitely want to head to The Barbary this November to see Echosmith take over the stage. Who knows, as they continue to gain momentum, this may be the last time to see them in that sort of intimate setting. Grab your tickets now and join them for a dance party at The Barbary on 11/13!
